Digital Face to Face

Today I watched the last of Huang Laoshi's four pioneering Chinese language classes.  Without a doubt this project will continue next year. In fact, the initiative is being picked up by teachers in other grades and other disciplines.

For the past two years, Huang Laoshi's grade 6 NiHao Chinese Language class has been using Skype to develop language skills in one-on-one conversations with their peers in Taiwan.  Over these past two years the ease with which students and teacher use the technology has imporved significantly. Their comfort with the technology is allowing them to focus on the more important issues of language acquisition.

CDNIS as a whole and the LTT Department in particular want to congratulate Huang Laoshi and her students for their ground breaking work.
