This morning found the Learning and Teaching Technology Centre busy as teachers and principals learned to create a web site using iWeb. Although others joined the learning session, we targeted the 20 homeroom teachers from grades 2 to 5.
The goal was to have each homeroom teacher create a three page web site for immediate communication with parents and students who have been required to stay home this week.
As a starting point, we had teachers build a three page web site
Starting this week, teachers can use these sites for weekly communication with parents. The feedback for the session was very positive. Our teachers were excited about finding new and more efficient and effective way to communicate with students and parents. We will continue to support our teachers as they continue to build and manage their homeroom sites.
The next step will be teachers using their to deliver facilitate learning in their classrooms.... all in good time.
