About Us

Learning and Teaching Technologies (LTT) offers opportunities to enhance how students acquire and demonstrate knowledge and how teachers assist and assess learning. LTT provides varied learning opportunities, allowing students to locate relevant and appropriate information, develop ideas, and work with others in ways not previously available to them. Learning computer skills is not enough. Students must apply this learning to solve problems, make decisions, develop presentations, and communicate their new knowledge.

Who is LTT?

The members in the LTT department are:

  • John D’Arcy
  • Makky Fung
  • Aaron Metz
  • Saeed Rahman
  • Samuel Ko

They work closely with teachers in the Lower and Upper Schools to build on activities that will utilize technology-mediated learning resources to enhance learning. Teachers, with the help of the LTT department, infuse the computer skills within all subject curriculum as computer skills are best learned within the context of subject applications. Please feel free to contact the LTT by email or visit their new teacher training center in room 707.

What is the goal?

The goal of the LTT department is to provide opportunities for the enhancement of learning, and significantly support students in their inquiries, and in developing their conceptual understanding. The use of LTT is integrated throughout CDNIS, enabling staff and students to use these seamless tools immediately and effectively.

How to achieve this goal?

To achieve this goal, CDNIS is introducing a school-wide laptop program. This program will run within the context of a larger technology plan that includes the introduction of interactive white boards, high definition overhead projectors, a comprehensive learning management system, and a wireless network.
